Summer time is full of things to do yet our kids still tell
us, over and over, “I’m bored!”. They flop down on a couch looking
mindlessly into one of the many screens around the house simply because they
think there’s nothing else to do. And as a parent, I know we sometimes run out
of idea’s ourselves and choose the easy route of popping in a movie instead of
actually interacting with our kids. So here’s a few of my favorites things to
do instead of watching t.v., and some links were you can explore more ideas.
Enjoy!
2 Get Outside: Sometimes getting the kids outside takes energy you may not feel, but just taking a family walk after dinner or playing catch in the yard can relax you and the kids enough for a restful night's sleep.
3 Star gaze: You may not remember all of the constellations you learned in middle school, but that doesn't mean you still can't enjoy the stars.
4. Geocache: This real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game is a fun way to find hidden objects in your area. You can work alone or with your family to navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates to look for a geocache hidden at that location. https://www.geocaching.com/play
5. Have a picnic: Enjoy a meal outside. Take a picnic basket to a local park, or even just into the backyard, and have a picnic with your family.
