There is nothing more frustrating for a truck driver than being stranded on the side of the road in the middle of winter. Even if you’ve perfectly maintained and winterized your truck there is always a chance you could find yourself in dangerous freezing temps. Your best defense is a well-stocked emergency kit. Here’s some essentials:
- Blankets, gloves, socks and hats
- Flashlight with extra batteries
- Bottle Water (3 days’ worth)
- Nonperishable food (3 days’ worth)
- Road Flares
- First Aid items-Band-Aids, ace bandage, aspirin, ect.
- Hand cranked radio
- Chemical Hand Warmers
For the Truck:
- Extra Antifreeze
- Spare Chains
- Spare Fuel Filter
- Set of tools
- Recovery straps or tow chains
